Tucker Kraft
Tucker Kraft Ahead of schedule in recovery
Wed, May 6, 2026, 2:26 PM
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said Tuesday that Kraft (ACL) is "a little bit ahead of schedule" in his recovery from a right ACL tear and that both he and Micah Parsons (ACL) are expected to be "back early in the [regular] season," Andrew Bandstra of Channel 3000 News reports.
Analysis: Gutekunst previously labeled Kraft ahead of schedule in mid-January, and it appears the tight end's progress has continued on an encouraging track. He noted that Kraft is further along in his rehab than Parsons, which makes sense considering the timing of their respective ACL tears (early Nov. vs. mid-Dec.). Kraft, meanwhile, has stated that he's targeting a Week 1 return. He's entering his age-26 season and the final year of his deal with the Packers, though Gutekunst has confirmed talks regarding an extension are underway. After Green Bay allowed Romeo Doubs to sign elsewhere as a free agent (Patriots) and dealt Dontayvion Wicks in a trade (Eagles), Kraft is facing a clearer path to targets alongside returning wideouts Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden. In eight regular-season games prior to tearing his ACL in 2025, Kraft had emerged as Green Bay's leading receiver with 32 grabs for 489 yards and six scores on 44 targets.
Tyrod Taylor
Tyrod Taylor Linking up with Packers
Mon, May 4, 2026, 1:23 PM
Taylor (knee) is signing a contract with the Packers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports Monday.
Analysis: Taylor last saw game action in Week 14 of the 2025 campaign for the Jets, with whom he made four starts in the second season of his two-year, $12 million contract prior to sustaining a knee injury. The 36-year-old quarterback has since recovered from that injury and slots in as the favorite to back up Jordan Love in a Packers quarterback room that also includes Kyle McCord and Kyron Drones.
Headed to Green Bay
Fri, May 1, 2026, 2:22 PM
The Packers signed Nixon as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Nixon played for several colleges before closing out his career at UCF in 2025. The running back participated in 12 games, rushing 71 times for 554 yards and seven touchdowns. He also added 17 receptions for 88 receiving yards in that span. With Josh Jacobs locked in as the No. 1 option at running back, Nixon will battle with several other candidates in training camp to hold down a depth role on the roster.
RJ Maryland
RJ Maryland Signs with Green Bay
Fri, May 1, 2026, 2:17 PM
The Packers signed Maryland as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Maryland started 32 games over four years for SMU, breaking the school's record for receiving yards by a tight end (1,495) despite missing time in 2024 with an ACL injury. The 21-year-old is a young, versatile option with strong upside as a pass catcher who can benefit from mismatches. The Packers already have a deep tight-end room, but Maryland may provide strong replacement value if the injury bug that plagued the 2025 corps reoccurs.
Kyron Drones
Kyron Drones Green Bay signs quarterback
Fri, May 1, 2026, 2:10 PM
The Packers signed Drones as an undrafted free agent Friday.
Analysis: Drones started his college career at Baylor, playing in seven games over two seasons before transferring to Virginia Tech in 2023, where he started the remainder of his collegiate games. The quarterback participated in 12 games in 2025, going 178-for-315 (56.5 percent) and accumulating 1,919 yards and 17 touchdowns to nine interceptions. Drones will have to outperform Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord in training camp to have a shot at backing up Jordan Love during the 2026 NFL season.
Fifth-year option picked up
Thu, Apr 30, 2026, 1:38 PM
Van Ness had his fifth-year option exercised by the Packers on Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The move keeps the 24-year-old under contract through 2027 and guarantees him a salary near $13.8 million. The three-year pro missed half of last season with an ankle injury, which caused him to finish with a disappointing 1.5 sacks and 19 tackles (12 solo). The 2024 season wasn't much better as he recorded 33 tackles (22 solo) and six tackles for loss in 17 games, but he at least combined for 7.0 sacks in his first two seasons. Green Bay's switch to a 3-4 defensive scheme could impact Van Ness' playing time, but with Micah Parsons still rehabbing back from a December ACL tear and pass-rush depth lost this season in the form of Rashan Gary and Kingsley Enagbare, the new scheme won't be a reason the 2023 first-round pick would be kept off the field.
Lands in Green Bay

The Packers selected Smack in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 216th overall.
Analysis: Smack joins Green Bay via the final pick of the sixth round as the first kicker off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft. As a freshman with Florida in 2022, he operated in a specialist role before taking over as the Gators' starting kicker from 2023-25, a three-year span in which he compiled an 82.8 percent field-goal conversion rate. Smack boasts a big leg, having converted 10 of 13 field-goal attempts from 50-plus yards, and he'll have an opportunity to compete with Brandon McManus and Lucas Havrisik for the Packers' starting kicker gig this offseason.

The Packers selected Jackson in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 201st overall.
Analysis: Jackson (6-foot-1, 194 pounds) spent the first two years of his collegiate career at USC, where he emerged as a starter in 2023 before transferring to Alabama. There, he started all 13 games in 2024 and 10 of 15 appearances in 2025. The 23-year-old's consistency in coverage leaves much to be desired, as evidenced by his total starts and snaps declining in his final year with the Crimson Tide, but Green Bay appears intrigued by upside provided by the former track sprinter's speed (4.41-second 40-yard dash). Jackson stands to begin his career with the Packers primarily in a developmental role and potentially also as a special-teams contributor.
Heads to Green Bay
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 1:39 PM
The Packers selected Burton in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 153rd overall.
Analysis: Burton played all three positions of the interior defensive line as a four-year starter at Kentucky, ultimately settling in as a center in his final season. The 23-year-old is an impressive athlete with a 4.94 40-yard dash at 6-foot-4, 312 pounds, and while he needs to polish some of his technical skills, he should be a dependable backup for the Packers heading into 2026.
Scooped up by Packers
Sat, Apr 25, 2026, 12:16 PM
The Packers selected Dennis-Sutton in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 120th overall.
Analysis: Dennis-Sutton boasts a production-filled career in his time at Penn State, compiling 42 tackles and 8.0 sacks in each of his last two seasons with the Nittany Lions. He backed that up with impressive numbers in the jumps, three-cone drills and the 40-yard dash, ranking in the 85th-plus percentile in each category. He'll need to hone his craft at the next level and doesn't sport the same level of explosiveness as some of the elite pass rushers, but he boasts adequate hand size and arm length to get on opposing offensive linemen. Dennis-Sutton will join fellow former Nittany Lion Micah Parsons as Green Bay adds depth in the pass-rushing room after trading away Rashan Gary during the offseason and getting lackluster production out of 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness to date.
Grabbed by Green Bay
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 9:05 PM
The Packers selected McClellan in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 77th overall.
Analysis: McClellan transferred to Missouri in 2024 after spending the two prior seasons with Florida, and he emerged as a starter in each of his two years with Mizzou. During his senior year in 2025, he posted 48 tackles, including 6.0 sacks, and two pass defenses across 13 games. McClellan's 6-foot-4 frame and large hands make him NFL-ready from a physical standpoint, and that showed with his prowess as a run stopper. He has the versatility to line up in zero- and one-technique across the defensive front, though he'll need to be more consistent as a pass rusher to earn more snaps for himself in Green Bay. McClellan figures to work in rotation behind Javon Hargrave with Warren Brinson, among others.
Grabbed by Green Bay
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 7:38 PM
The Packers selected Cisse in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 52nd overall.
Analysis: Cisse (5-foot-11, 189 pounds) is something of a projection at the NFL level, still needing refinement in terms of route coverage and ball skills, but his combination of speed (4.41-second 40-yard dash) and frame promise intriguing upside as an outside corner. Though Cisse isn't necessarily a lock to push starting CBs Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine for more than rotational reps as a rookie, neither incumbent veteran played to a high enough level in 2025 to be considered truly entrenched. In his rookie year, it also wouldn't be surprising to see Cisse's athleticism earn him a role on special teams. Both Nixon and Valentine are entering the final years of their respective deals, so Cisse should have a clear path to a starting opportunity no later than 2027.
Jayden Reed
Jayden Reed Three-year extension with Packers
Fri, Apr 24, 2026, 4:19 PM
Reed has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Packers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Per Schefter, Reed's extension with Green Bay is worth $50.25 million in new money, including $20 million guaranteed. As the coming season approaches, Reed is entrenched as a key component of a Packers WR corps that also features Christian Watson and Matthew Golden, following the offseason departures of Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks. In seven regular-season contests in 2025, the 2023 second-rounder recorded a 19-207-1 line on 22 targets. Health permitting, a bounce-back season is plausible for Reed in 2026, with the vacated targets of Doubs and Wicks up for grabs.
Signs tender with Green Bay
Mon, Apr 20, 2026, 5:08 PM
Melton (knee) signed his exclusive-rights tender with the Packers on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Melton is set to receive $1.145 million in 2026 after playing 16 regular-season contests for the Packers in 2025. The wide receiver and special teams piece suffered a knee injury at the end of the 2025 regular season, but he's healthy and ready to go for the start of the 2026 offseason.
Matthew Golden
Matthew Golden Primed for larger role
Thu, Apr 16, 2026, 9:23 AM
Golden has a clear path to move up Green Bay's depth chart in the absence of Romeo Doubs (Patriots) and Dontayvion Wicks (Eagles), ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports.
Analysis: Green Bay's offseason moves leave Golden, Christian Watson and Jayden Reed without serious competition for the top three spots at wide receiver, pending results of the 2026 NFL Draft. Golden went 23rd overall in last year's draft, yet didn't score his first NFL touchdown until the playoffs. He had four straight games with at least three catches and 37 yards in Weeks 3-7, before averaging just 14.0 yards on 2.6 targets over his final eight appearances of the regular season (shoulder and wrist injuries contributed to the slump). Golden then put up 4-84-1 in a playoff loss at Chicago, restoring some hope for a Year 2 breakout. If nothing else, the Packers seem to be planning a major increase in playing time.
Likely facing multi-game absence
Thu, Mar 26, 2026, 12:39 PM
Parsons (knee) is projected to miss the first three or four weeks of the regular season as he recovers from a torn ACL, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Parsons underwent surgery shortly before the calendar flipped to 2026 to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. The recovery process typically takes around nine months, so Parsons still has a chance to be available by the time the regular season kicks off in September, but a multi-game absence is the likeliest scenario at this point.
Inks two-year deal with Green Bay
Wed, Mar 11, 2026, 4:07 PM
The Packers agreed to terms with Hargrave on a two-year, $23 million contract Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Hargrave was released by Minnesota in a cost-cutting move earlier in the day Wednesday. He quickly lands back on his feet with the division-rival Packers. Now 33 years old, Hargrave remains productive after accruing 52 tackles (18 solo), including 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across 16 regular-season contests in 2025. He figures to slot in at nose tackle for Green Bay.
Re-signing with Green Bay
Wed, Mar 11, 2026, 1:44 PM
The Packers have agreed to a one-year deal with Cox, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The one-year, $2.5 million deal will keep the restricted free agent with the Packers. Cox was a valuable rotational defensive piece, helping out on the edge when star pass rusher Micah Parsons went down in December of 2025. The 26-year-old played in just four 2025 regular-season games, down from seven in 2024.
Skyy Moore
Skyy Moore Expected to ink with Green Bay
Tue, Mar 10, 2026, 5:47 PM
Moore has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Packers, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports. Per Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Moore's deal has a base value of $2.5 million with incentives to earn as much as $4.5 million.
Analysis: Moore was productive while operating as a return man for the 49ers in 2025, totaling 907 kickoff-return yards and 291 yards fielding punts across 17 regular-season appearances. He also had five catches for 87 yards (seven targets) and two carries for 11 yards. Moore figures to primarily contribute in the return game again for his new team, as second-year wideout Savion Williams (foot) already projects within the Packers' plans for a gadget role on offense. Moore and Williams figure to also compete for opportunities returning kicks.
Re-signing with Green Bay
Tue, Mar 10, 2026, 5:06 PM
Kinnard agreed to terms Tuesday on a contract with the Packers, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Kinnard is signing a one-year deal worth up to $3.75 million to stay with the Packers. The backup right tackle was a reliable backup when starter Zach Tom was unable to stay on the field during the 2025 season. Kinnard's availability and reserve production were valuable enough to score him another year in the green and yellow, where he will likely continue to back up Tom.
